Dirk Stanley, MD, MPH, a native of Hartsdale, NY, is a board-certified Internist and the Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. His broad experience draws from his earlier years working as a computer programmer, database designer, and epidemiologist before later entering clinical medicine. He currently focuses on developing informatics programs, and increasing healthcare awareness of informatics and policy issues which impact electronic implementations, efficiency, and patient safety.
