Formed over 50 years ago, the Joint Commission serves as an independent, not-for-profit quality assurance organization governed by a board that includes physicians, nurses and consumers. The Joint Commission sets the standards by which health care quality is measured in America and around the world and evaluates the quality and safety of more than 15,000 health care organizations.
Locum Medical received the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval in June of 2008 and is one of the very few staffing agencies to have been given this award. Receiving this certification is the result of Locum Medical's commitment to our physicians and clients. We strive to provide nothing but the highest quality of service.
Having the Joint Commission seal of approval means that Locum Medical has undergone a rigorous process to ensure we are in compliance with the standards which are required. The standards, as contained in the Health Care Staffing Service Certification Manual, are divided into four sections:
- Leadership
- Human resources management
- Performance measurement and improvement
- Information management
For our performance measurement we have adopted a set of three standardized performance measures. These include the following:
- Do not return rate for clinical reasons
- Do no return rate for professional reason
- Completeness of personnel file
