Giving back
Both Locum Medical Group and our parent company, Randstad Professionals, U.S., have a strong focus on corporate social responsibility and have developed employee-based teams to plan and execute on initiatives in Environment Sustainability and Community Giving.
The Join Together + Make a Difference team was created in June of 2008 to offer multiple ways for employees to join together to improve the greater good by providing financial, volunteer and promotional support to charitable causes. By doing so, the team hopes to build camaraderie and loyalty among employees while increasing our organizational commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Community Giving
Locum Medical donated 2,305 pounds of food to the Cleveland Foodbank.
The Cleveland Foodbank provides food to local hot meal sites, shelters, food pantries, child care centers, group homes and programs for the elderly across northeast Ohio.
44 employees participated in the Race for the Cure in 2009. Over $1,000 was raised.
The Race for the Cure is an annual event held all over the world to raise awareness about breast cancer. Proceeds raised during the events support the Susan G. Komen foundation which saves lives, empowers people, ensures quality care for all and energizes science to find the cures.
Locum Medical has sponsored blood drives for the American Red Cross. 57 people have donated blood including employees from other offices within our building.
The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors - across the street, across the country and across the world - in emergencies. Each year, in communities large and small, victims of some 70,000 disasters turn to more than half a million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross.
$325 was raised for The Gathering Place as part of the annual Race for the Place event.
The Gathering Place is a cancer support center offering a wide variety of free programs and services addressing the social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of individuals with cancer and their families and friends.
Since 2004, Locum Medical has donated bikes and helmets to the children staying at New Life Community.
New Life Community offers transitional housing while homeless, jobless families can get support and necessary training on how to find a job, how to maintain a budget, how to better care for their children and how to start on a path to future successes. While the road to independence can be somewhat rocky and uneven, all signs can point to a positive outcome.
65 new and gently used books were donated to Cleveland Reads.
Cleveland Reads works beyond the boundaries of any one literacy organization, by creating programs and services to improve youth and family literacy that can be replicated across Northeast Ohio. The organization provides the ideal literacy experience to children, youth and families through dedicated tutors, quality materials and committed providers.
15 cell phones were collected and donated to the Domestic Violence Center of Cleveland.
The mission of the Domestic Violence Center is to empower individuals, promote justice and mobilize the community so that all people are free from violence and abuse in their relationships and homes. As a dynamic community leader, we will create solutions and partnerships to address abuse and provide services to all who need them.
$1,030.75 has been raised by holding bake sales in the lobby of our building. The bake sales are part of the Great American Bake Sale campaign that benefits Share Our Strength.
Share Our Strength weaves together a net of community groups, activists and food programs to catch children facing hunger and surround them with nutritious food where they live, learn and play. Nearly 17 million - almost one in four — children in America face hunger. Share Our Strength aims to have no child go hungry.
